This Power Pass Operator Just Put $9 Lift Tickets on Sale at Nine Mountains

Mountain Capital Partners is selling tens of thousands of $9 lift tickets at all nine of its U.S. resorts this winter, with Brian Head opening first on Nov. 6.

Ski news: This Power Pass Operator Just Put $9 Lift Tickets on Sale at Nine Mountains

Mountain Capital Partners, the company behind the Power Pass, announced on Oct. 5 that it will sell $9 lift tickets at all nine of its U.S. ski areas this winter. Tens of thousands of the discounted tickets are being released across Colorado, Arizona, Utah, Nevada, New Mexico and Oregon, and some of them come bundled with $10 in resort credit for on-mountain food and retail.

Five mountains already have $9 inventory on sale: Purgatory, Arizona Snowbowl, Brian Head, Lee Canyon and Sipapu. Tickets for Pajarito, Willamette Pass, Nordic Valley and Sandia Peak are expected later this fall.

How the $9 tickets actually work

This is not a flat price for every day of the season. MCP still runs demand-based pricing, and the $9 allotment varies by resort and by date, so the cheapest days will go to people who book early and stay flexible. The company says prices and availability were current as of Oct. 5, and tickets are sold through each resort's own website rather than a central store.

Families get a second break. Kids 12 and under ski free all season at every MCP resort through the Power Kids Pass, with no adult purchase required. Paired with a $9 adult ticket on a good date, that puts a family day at a Southwest hill well under the price of a single window ticket at the big Colorado and Utah flagships.

Opening dates across the portfolio

  • Nov. 6: Brian Head, Utah, which gets a new Navajo Mountain pipeline that runs 24 snow guns at once, up from 18.
  • Nov. 20: Purgatory (new Colorado Couloir triple and about 40 acres of advanced terrain), Lee Canyon (a new quad serving West Bowl and five new trails), Arizona Snowbowl and Sipapu.
  • Dec. 4: Pajarito, which will run seven days a week for the first time after a $20 million water and snowmaking project.
  • Dec. 11: Willamette Pass, following a $5 million snowmaking build.
  • Dec. 18 and Dec. 19: Nordic Valley, then Sandia Peak.

All dates are weather permitting, and all nine resorts move to RFID lift access this season.

Why it matters for trip planners

MCP has spent the fall stacking low-price hooks. Arizona Snowbowl already ran a $1 lift ticket promotion tied to its opening, and this portfolio-wide $9 release pushes the same idea to every U.S. mountain the company runs. For skiers in Las Vegas, Albuquerque, Phoenix or Salt Lake, it is a cheap way to sample a hill before committing to a Power Pass. For destination skiers, the bigger signal is investment: MCP says it has put more than $37.5 million into capital projects across its U.S. and South American resorts in 2026.

The details come from the company's Oct. 5 announcement. Compare terrain, lodging and access on each mountain's Ski Flock page, starting with Purgatory and Lee Canyon, and see what the Power Pass covers before the $9 dates sell through.
