Vail Resorts just put a concrete number on flexible access for winter 2026-27: a four-day Epic Day Pass covering Vail, Whistler Blackcomb, Park City, and Breckenridge for $471, or $118 a day, if you buy before prices rise after October 7. Regional and East/Midwest tiers land lower still, at $367 and $223 for four days.
That is the story for trip planners who know they will ski a handful of days but will not commit to an unlimited season pass. Epic Day Pass lets buyers choose one to seven days, pick which resort tier they need, and decide whether peak holiday dates are included. Savings rise as day counts climb, and Vail is pitching up to 65 percent off window ticket prices for shoppers who lock in now.
Three tiers, one October 7 clock
The flagship $471 tier is aimed at destination skiers who want the marquee Epic mountains without buying the full season product. The $367 regional tier covers mountains such as Keystone, Crested Butte, Heavenly, Northstar, and Stowe. The $223 East and Midwest tier is the local-value play for shorter drives. Peak restricted dates for Day Pass products that skip peak access include Nov. 27-28, Dec. 26-31, Jan. 16, and Feb. 13-14, so holiday travelers should add peak access at purchase if those windows matter.
Vail also refreshed the unlimited path in the same release. Ages 13 to 30 can save 20 percent on Epic Pass or Epic Local Pass, and those full-season buyers still get five Epic Friend Tickets (50 percent off adult tickets, 25 percent off child). Epic Mountain Rewards remain attached across the pass family for lodging, rentals, lessons, and dining discounts.
Why this matters before you book lodging
October 7 is the practical deadline for NA destination skiers comparing a short Epic Day Pass stack against an Ikon or Indy itinerary. If your winter is three to five destination days at Vail, Whistler, or Park City, the $118-per-day math is the comparison line against window tickets that routinely clear $200 on peak weekends. If you already know you will ski 10-plus days across the Epic network, the unlimited Epic Pass or Epic Local Pass is still the cleaner buy, especially with the young-adult discount and Friend Tickets.
