Killington Just Hosted FIS Inspectors With World Cup Racing Weeks Away
FIS officials walked Killington's Superstar trail this week with the Stifel Killington Cup about 70 days out. Women's GS and slalom return Nov. 28-29 after a 2025 skip.
Killington Resort is back in race mode. Members of the International Ski and Snowboard Federation walked Superstar this week to check preparations for the Stifel Killington Cup, with a little more than 70 days until women's World Cup racing returns to Vermont over Thanksgiving weekend.
The Audi FIS Ski World Cup event is scheduled Nov. 27-29, 2026. Friday brings the athlete bib draw, fireworks, and live music free to the public. Saturday, Nov. 28, is women's giant slalom. Sunday, Nov. 29, is women's slalom. Both races run on Superstar and finish into the festival village at Roaring Brook. Tickets are already on sale at killington.com, with general admission starting at $10 per day and grandstand options higher up the price ladder.
This is Killington's ninth time hosting, and the first return after a forced 2025 skip. Last year's U.S. women's Thanksgiving races moved to Copper Mountain while Killington installed the Superstar Six chairlift. Resort leadership says the new six-pack plus more than 100 new low-energy snowguns on Superstar are central to staging a World Cup-caliber surface that early in the East. Few Eastern venues can reliably support Thanksgiving racing; Killington's snowmaking footprint is a big reason the calendar came back.
Expected names on the start list include Olympic gold medalists Mikaela Shiffrin of the United States and Federica Brignone of Italy, along with U.S. Olympic medalist Paula Moltzan, according to resort announcements. A portion of ticket revenue benefits the Killington World Cup Foundation, which funds regional winter-sports programs. Killington projects roughly 40,000 fans across the weekend, which remains one of the most attended women's World Cup stops on the circuit.
