Whistler Blackcomb Upgrades Jersey Cream to High-Speed Six-Pack
The new high-capacity lift replaces a workhorse quad on Blackcomb Mountain, increasing mid-mountain uphill capacity by 29 percent.
Whistler Blackcomb in British Columbia has officially brought its new Jersey Cream Express six-passenger chairlift into service, modernizing one of the most critical mid-mountain transit corridors on Blackcomb Mountain.
The new lift replaces a vintage high-speed quad that had operated continuously since 1989. The upgraded installation increases uphill passenger capacity to 2,800 skiers per hour, a 29 percent boost designed to relieve morning bottlenecks above the Rendezvous Lodge.
Unlocking Glacier Creek and Glacier Express Lap Lines
Jersey Cream occupies a vital junction in Blackcomb trail network, providing direct lift access to popular intermediate groomers like Spring Run and Upper Cruiser, as well as serving as the primary return link for skiers exiting the Blackcomb Glacier and Secret Bowl.
The six-passenger carrier design includes padded ergonomic seats and automated restraint bar locking systems to enhance safety in windy alpine weather.
Broader Capital Upgrades
The Jersey Cream modernization follows recent high-speed lift replacements on the Whistler Mountain side, including the Fitzsimmons Express eight-passenger chairlift and the Creekside Gondola upgrade. Together, the capital improvements ensure that North America largest ski resort continues to disperse high weekend skier volumes efficiently.
