Aspen Mountain Opens 153 Acres of Glades Off Pandora Quad
The high-speed quad extends Aspen Mountain summit ridge down into Hero Chutes, delivering the resort first major acreage expansion since the Silver Queen Gondola.
Aspen Mountain has completed its first full operating cycle for the Pandora terrain expansion, introducing 153 acres of pristine north-facing glades and groomed cruiser terrain off the upper east boundary of the mountain.
The expansion represents the mountain first major terrain addition since the iconic Silver Queen Gondola began spinning in December 1986, boosting total skiable acreage at Ajax by more than 20 percent.
High Elevation and Natural Snow Preservation
The Pandora pod tops out at 11,212 feet, where cold temperatures and dense evergreen cover preserve snow quality days after storms pass through the Roaring Fork Valley. The terrain is serviced by a high-speed quad that covers 1,220 vertical feet in under five minutes.
Roughly half of Pandora acreage is dedicated to advanced gladed tree skiing through Hero Chutes and Walsh runs, while the remaining terrain provides wide, high-alpine intermediate cruising with panoramic views across the Hunter-Fryingpan Wilderness.
