This Utah Mountain Just Flew In Towers for a Six-Minute High-Speed Quad

Sundance Mountain Resort just cleared a major construction milestone on its next marquee lift. Helicopter crews flew Electric Horseman towers into place last week, and crews are now assembling the top and bottom terminals with a goal of spinning the chair for the 2026-27 season.
Electric Horseman is a detachable high-speed quad with about 1,850 feet of vertical and a ride time near six minutes. Today much of the Back Mountain still runs on fixed-grip chairs. The new lift is meant to cut lap times hard and shorten the climb to Bearclaw Cabin, the mid-mountain stop known for its nachos and views over the Provo Canyon side of the Wasatch.
The chair is not a standalone upgrade. It anchors a roughly 100-acre expansion on terrain formerly called the Far Ridge Ridgeline. Access has been regraded and widened. The headliner run is Storyteller, a 1.7-mile double-intermediate groomer with big sightlines. Three new expert glades peel off Storyteller as well. That pod was supposed to open last winter but stayed closed after natural snow never cooperated. More advanced and expert lines off Storyteller are planned for later seasons.
