Snowbird Just Extended Pass Pricing and Added a Free Parking Perk
Snowbird pushed Summit Pass pricing through Sept. 30 and added a free rolling Upper Gad Valley parking reservation for qualifying adult passholders.
Snowbird just gave Cottonwood Canyon pass buyers another week and a parking perk that matters on storm mornings. Summit Pass and other qualifying season products stay at current rates through Wednesday, September 30, and eligible adult passholders get a free rolling parking reservation in the Upper Gad Valley Lot for 2026-27. Once you use that reservation, you can book another free one subject to availability, which is the practical read for regulars who hate paying twice for the same powder day.
General manager Dave Fields framed the extension as a passholder retention play: lock price, then make the drive less painful. Qualifying products include Summit Pass, Alta-Bird Pass, Alta-Bird Family 4-Pack adult passes, and Flex-5. Youth and child passes, Freeloader, Mountain Collective, Ikon Pass, day tickets, and employee-dependent passes do not get the free rolling reservation. Carpools of three or more can still use dedicated first-come spots, and Snowbird still pushes the UTA Ski Bus as the cleanest canyon move.
Upper Gad goes seven days, Chickadee is ready
Reservations expand to Lower Gad Valley, Pond, Chickadee, Valet, and now Upper Gad Valley seven days a week, with license-plate validation. Most parking remains first-come, first-served, so the free rolling Upper Gad slot is the new scarce perk for Summit and Alta-Bird adults, not a full paid-reservation takeover. On the hill, Skytrac finished the fixed-grip Chickadee quad in 76 days this past June. The beginner-zone chair is rated for about 1,600 passengers per hour, adds a slow-loading conveyor, and pairs with graded Chickadee learning terrain meant to keep new skiers out of the tram circus.
Little Cottonwood still closes for avalanche work and still backs up on powder mornings, so a free rolling Upper Gad reservation is a real schedule tool, not a marketing line. For destination planners comparing a Snowbird Summit Pass against Ikon or Mountain Collective days, September 30 is the near-term clock. The parking benefit only attaches to resort-sold qualifying passes, so multi-resort passholders still need a separate plan for Little Cottonwood mornings.
