Deer Valley East Village Expansion: New Terrain and Lifts Debut
The largest ski resort expansion in modern North American history opens its initial terrain pod, adding new high-speed bubble lifts and a dedicated base portal along Route 40.
Deer Valley Resort has officially debuted the initial phase of its landmark East Village expansion, opening over 500 acres of new skiable terrain on the eastern flank of the mountain along the U.S. Route 40 corridor.
The expansion marks the most significant terrain development at a major American resort in over twenty years. When fully built out across subsequent seasons, the project will more than double Deer Valley footprint to 5,726 skiable acres, served by 37 chairlifts and over 230 individual runs.
New Lifts and Base Portal Logistics
Phase one introduces three brand-new chairlifts, headlined by the Keetley Express: a six-passenger high-speed bubble lift equipped with heated seats and a pull-down weather shield. The lift transports skiers directly from the new East Village parking plaza to the high ridge connecting Sultan and Bald Mountain.
For skiers arriving from Salt Lake City International Airport or the Wasatch Back, the East Village portal provides a critical logistical advantage: day skiers can now access Deer Valley slopes without driving through Park City crowded historic downtown corridors.
Skier Capping and Pass Access
Despite the substantial terrain growth, Deer Valley management confirmed that the resort will maintain its strict daily ticket limits to preserve uncrowded slopes and protect its skier-only tradition. The mountain remains a marquee destination on the Ikon Pass, requiring advance reservations for passholders during peak winter periods.
