Vail Adds More Mountain Concerts, With a Different Anchor for Winter Nights
Vail plans seven on-mountain performances and Dobson Arena shows by ILLENIUM and Ian Asher, giving winter visitors new dates to consider for ski trips.

Vail Mountain is building its 2026-27 music calendar around the transformed Dobson Arena, with ILLENIUM scheduled for December 11 and Ian Asher for January 16. The October 16 announcement also calls for seven on-mountain performances, three more than last winter, bringing both evening shows and slope-side events into the trip-planning picture.
For skiers choosing between otherwise similar travel weekends, a named artist and a fixed date offer a concrete reason to look closer. An arena performance can anchor the evening after skiing, while a mountain concert may call for a different plan for the day. Check each event's own arrangements before tying accommodation to it.
More music, with some details still to come
Vail says two new music venues are part of the winter expansion. Additional artists, locations and mountain activations will be announced through the season. The resort's release describes a larger program, but it does not provide a complete date-by-date schedule for all seven mountain performances.
That leaves two kinds of planning decisions. Fans of the announced headliners can begin with those specific dates. Travelers interested in the broader mountain program should wait for individual event details before assuming a concert will fall during their stay. The headline count alone does not identify which ski day will include a show.
Après spreads beyond the arena
The surrounding calendar includes the return of the Vail Ice Bar next to the Legendary Back Bowls Gate. At Express Lift, near the base of Gondola One, the resort plans more than 50 performing artists across its Après All Day program, with Friday, Saturday and Sunday DJ sets from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m., starting opening day.
Those settings offer different ways to finish a ski day, from a base-area stop to a dedicated night out. If music is a priority for your group, compare the venue with where you expect to end skiing and where you are staying. Leave time to change gear before an evening performance.
