A Utah lawsuit that threatened operations around Park City Mountain's Iron Mountain Express just hit pause. Parties told a state judge they will try mediation on Oct. 22 before deciding whether litigation should resume. Provo-based nonprofit UI Charitable bought a 63-acre lot in The Colony in late 2024. The parcel sits around the base of Iron Mountain Express, the southern terminal of the Timberline lift, and the Cascade ski run. In February, UI Charitable sued the resort, arguing Park City lacks permission to operate those lifts and the run on its land. Park City says its rights date to 2003, before Vail Resorts ownership.
