Canopy Deer Valley debuts 180 rooms steps from the Jordanelle Express Gondola, with four dining concepts as East Village lodging finally arrives.
Deer Valley finally has a branded bed beside its Route 40 front door. Canopy Deer Valley, Hilton's lifestyle brand, opened a 180-room hotel in September 2026 at 2288 West Deer Hollow Road, minutes from East Village and steps from the Jordanelle Express Gondola.
Hilton and developer Extell pitched the property as one of the first hotels tied to the East Village expansion, roughly 40 minutes from Salt Lake City International Airport. Rooms start around $200 a night on Hilton channels, with Hilton Honors benefits for members who book direct. Interiors by DLR Group | BraytonHughes lean on wood, stone, and mining-town cues rather than a lodge cliché.
Four restaurants, not a lobby bar afterthought
Executive Chef Scott Rackliff (Eleven Madison Park, Dinex) leads four concepts open to hotel guests and locals: Tavolona (Italian trattoria for breakfast through dinner), Fornetto (antipasti, pizza, cocktails), Mountain Provisions (Park City Coffee Roasters and grab-and-go), and Alpine Attic (rooftop lounge with High West and Alpine Distilling pours). That mix matters for destination skiers who want dinner without a Park City Main Street shuttle every night.
What it changes for Ikon planners
East Village already shifted day-skier logistics away from downtown choke points. A true slope-adjacent hotel next to the gondola makes multi-day Ikon Pass trips easier to stage without depending on unfinished East Village and Park Peak lodges, which Deer Valley still targets for 2027-28. Hail Peak Express and the newest acreage remain the on-mountain story. Canopy is the lodging proof that the second base is becoming a place to sleep, not just a parking plaza.
Practical note for first-time East Village guests: the Jordanelle Express Gondola is the arrival story, but Hail Peak and the free East Village parking lot are what turn a hotel stay into early corduroy without a Park City downtown detour. Build a buffer for construction around unfinished lodges, and confirm gondola operating hours before you assume a late dinner at Alpine Attic still connects to a night ski window. Canopy is open now.
